Moira Mctague

Moira is a painter and etcher. Her work is mainly inspired by her immediate surroundings

Working from life, she explores her ideas through painting and etching. Subjects are observed in depth and recurring themes often develop. Recent work includes exploration of the beauty of natural forms in the garden, memories and the passing of time. The processes of painting and etching are those of discovery and one of the aims is to create balance and harmony.

As an etcher, the physical processes of working on the etching plate and the infinite possibilities of etching methods are as important to the artist as her subject matter. In both painting and etching McTague strives to achieve a sense of balance and harmony.

She has exhibited widely including being selected for the Laing Landscape Exhibition, The National Print Exhibition, Mall Galleries, London, The British International Mini Print Exhibition and International Mini Print, Norwalk, U.S.A.
