Stormy Skies
All of these are Oil on Canvas
In the Summer of 2009 Sarah was commissioned to paint a large canvas based on the view from the upper end of Scar Reservoir, looking back down Nidderdale.
This took a panoramic format, nine foot in length. "This wasn't a scale I was used to working on, and created quite a few challenges. One of the outcomes was a large dramatic sky, rain heavy clouds contrasting against windows of pale blue. This inspired my 'Stormy Skies' collection.
The heavy skies were retained, on a very elongated portrait canvas, with a little slip of land at the bottom, mostly depicting Gouthwaite Reservoir."
