Jane Schaffer
Jane has been making ceramics professionally for more than sixteen years using stoneware and porcelain clay, the strength of one complimenting the fine texture of the other.
While working in Stockholm at Krutis's studio she was inspired by the clear lines and the flowing shapes of Scandinavian design. Then during a six month artist in residence in Shigaraki, Japan, Jane had the opportunity to experiment with local clay and glazes. She was also impressed with the Japanese use of pottery in the preparation and serving of food.
Jane has exhibited in London, York, Paris and Kyoto
